A two-level analysis chamber concept comprising a highly effective double Mu-metal magnetic shielding for ultimate HREELS performance is used for the MULTIPROBE HREELS. Whilst the HREELS spectrometer occupies the lower level, complementary techniques such as photoelectron spectroscopy, LEED and UHV SPM are applied in the upper level. All standard sample transfer facilities, precision sample manipulation and various sample preparation techniques are available for the MULTIPROBE HREELS. The example shows a MULTIPROBE HREELS XP with the ELS 5000 spectrometer (left), separate sample preparation chamber and a bolt-on VT SPM (right, upper level).
